Alpha Gray Security LLC
You can tell who is on your property from the end of the walkway.
Alpha Gray Security is a Virginia private security company operating under the Commonwealth’s Department of Criminal Justice Services. We provide armed and unarmed officers to the people responsible for a property — owners, managers and general contractors who need someone answerable for it, not a body filling an hour.
That means an officer who knows the site, walks it, notices what changed since yesterday, and does something about it. Every assignment starts with the same questions: what are you protecting, what hours does it happen, and what should the officer do when something goes wrong.
Four words on our own material, and the four things we hold every officer to on your property.
The property is walked, not watched from a chair. What changed since last shift gets noticed.
Consistent rules, honest reports, and an officer who tells you the thing you would rather not hear.
Overnights, weekends and holidays staffed with officers who are assigned and relieved in advance.
What was agreed in writing is what happens on the property, every shift, without being chased.

I'm Brian Smith, owner of Alpha Gray Security LLC. I bring more than 18 years of armed and unarmed security experience, including service as a TSA Transportation Security Officer and work in private investigations and bail enforcement. Currently as a Federal Armed Contractor with Homeland Security.
As a hands-on owner, I work alongside my officers and stay in direct contact with property managers. Our focus is on visible patrols, respectful interactions with residents, and clear reporting that helps management follow up on concerns.

Protecting what matters most.
Licensed armed and unarmed officers who take ownership of a property — on foot, in a vehicle, and through every hour you are open or closed. Not a warm body at a door: someone who protects the place, the people in it, and the details nobody else would catch.

01Uniformed armed officers for sites and situations where the risk calls for a higher level of protection — and where the property needs someone accountable for it.
Details
02Unarmed officers who own the front door, the lobby and the everyday situations that need a steady hand.
DetailsDedicated coverage for apartment communities, HOAs and multi-family properties — patrol on the walkways, control at the gates, and quiet, consistent enforcement of the rules everyone agreed to.
Walking patrols through the parts of a property a vehicle can never see — corridors, walkways, garages and back-of-house.
Mobile patrols for larger properties and after-hours coverage, with a marked presence at each checkpoint.
We monitor entry points, screen who comes through them, and physically confirm the doors, gates and common areas are secured and stay that way.
Community guidelines, curfews, parking rules and quiet hours enforced the same way on every shift, with the professionalism your residents and tenants expect.
Detailed reports in plain language after every shift and every incident — what was checked, what was found, and what was done about it.
We make contact with the law enforcement agency that covers your property before anything happens — a named contact, a shared plan, and a call that gets made early.
A walkthrough that names the real exposures — lighting, sightlines, access, hours, history — and sets out the coverage that actually addresses them.
Entry screening, crowd flow and access control for events, planned with the venue and local police well before the first guest arrives.
Around-the-clock coverage and a phone that gets answered — overnight posts, weekend rounds, and a person to call when something happens at 3am.
Not every property needs an armed officer, and not every property can do without one. We staff both, and we will tell you plainly which one your situation calls for — then hold that officer to the standard either way.

Level of authority
Virginia DCJS License #11-30615Cash handling, high-value property, a site with a history, an event that needs a firm boundary.
A licensed armed officer, assigned to the property.
Lobbies, front desks, retail floors, gated entries, rules and the everyday calm.
A professional presence that knows the building.
Both levels are licensed, uniformed, briefed on the site and reported on every shift. The difference is authority, not attention.
Private On-Site Police
A private on-site police program we are bringing to Virginia properties — for the sites that need more than a security officer on a post, and want a dedicated, assigned presence of their own.
It is in development, not on the price list. If your property is a fit, tell us now: interest is how the first assignments get scheduled, and you will hear about availability before it is posted anywhere.

Alpha Gray Security is licensed to operate anywhere in the Commonwealth. We run out of Mount Crawford, our officers are on the ground in Charlottesville today, and we are expanding into new areas as clients need them.

Private security in Virginia is regulated, and it should be. Alpha Gray Security operates under a license issued by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. Ask for the number, look it up, and expect it to match.
Our officers are hired, screened, uniformed and briefed for the properties they work. What they do on yours follows the instructions you give us before the first shift — and they are expected to take the site as seriously as you do.
